# 112: on ancient religion

The gods of ancient Greek mythology sometimes seem a bit capricious.  For example, when Zeus, in the guise of a well hung swan, ravished Leda, Helen of Sparta (& latter Troy) was conceived & eventually birthed as an egg.  Once hatched, her pretty face "launched a thousand ships" to have a splendidly bloody war.  Today, the capricious will of the gods is still manifest as wars along with cancer, hemorrhoids & so on... & the yoke is still on us.  A pun. Yup.
